In a brazen daylight robbery, a jewellery shop in Harichandanpur bazaar, Keonjhar district, Odisha, was targeted by armed assailants on Wednesday. The robbers, brandishing firearms and machetes, fired shots in the air to intimidate the staff and bystanders before making off with gold ornaments valued at several lakhs of rupees. Witnesses reported that approximately five individuals arrived on two motorcycles, forcefully entering the shop. The criminals then proceeded to loot both gold and cash from the premises. Police immediately responded to the incident, sealing off all exit routes and initiating a search operation. The suspects are believed to have fled towards a nearby forest, and the police are actively working to apprehend them.
