Ramaram of Sukma district will also get new cultural identity
New possibilities of tourism and employment will be created
Before Lord Cooch had worshiped Lord Rama by installing lingam at Rameshwaram before traveling to Lanka, similarly before entering from north to south India, he also worshiped by installing lingam in a place called Rampal in Chhattisgarh. Rampal is located in Bastar district, where the Shiva lingam established by Lord Rama still exists. Before the south entrance, Lord Rama worshiped Bhudevi after Rampal at Ramaram in Sukma district. The Government of Chhattisgarh has now prepared a plan for beautification and development by including both places in its new tourism circuit.
The new tourism circuit of Chhattisgarh with all the state-of-the-art facilities, including good roadways, will connect the places from which Prabhu Sriram either passed or migrated during his exile. 75 places on Prabhu Shriram’s forest trajectory have been identified in the state, out of which 9 locations have been selected in the first phase from Korea in the north to Ramaram in Sukma in the south. The Bhupesh Baghel government is going to spend Rs 137 crore 45 lakh for the development and beautification of these places. The project has been started in December with the foundation stone for beautification and extension work of Mata Kaushalya Temple complex at Chandkuri in Raipur district.
The distance of Rampal, a Shivling place established by Lord Rama, is 10 km from Bastar District Headquarters Jagdalpur. This Shiva lingam has been confirmed by scholars and research institutes. Ramaram of Sukma district is located near the border of Chhattisgarh, from where the borders of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are also close. With the development of Ramaram as a new tourist-pilgrimage, Sukma district will also get a new identity. Due to Naxal events, the historical, cultural and religious identity of these districts of Bastar division had not yet emerged. The objective of Chhattisgarh government through tourism development is also to create new employment opportunities in these districts. Bastar district in Chhattisgarh during Ramayana was known as Dandakaranya, during the exile Sri Ram spent a lot of time here.
