In the 26 districts of the state, more than 65 thousand workers of other states who are staying in relief camps and factories, placement camps set by the employers, such workers are being transported to their residence state on their request. As on 11 May 2020, about 30 thousand 422 workers have been safely transported to their state of residence. These include maximum 7 thousand one in Telangana, 5 thousand 992 in Maharashtra, 5 thousand 844 workers in Gujarat and 3 thousand 464 workers in Jharkhand.
Labor Department officials said here today that as of May 11, 2020, one thousand 131 workers from Andhra Pradesh, 7 laborers from Assam, 234 laborers from Bihar, 9 laborers from Dadra and Nagar Haveli, 29 laborers from Delhi, one laborer from Goa, 86 laborers from Haryana, 5 laborers from Himachal Pradesh, 2 laborers from Jammu and Kashmir, 2 thousand 217 laborers from Karnataka and 240 laborers from Kerala have been safely transported to their home state. Similarly, 828 laborers from Madhya Pradesh, 391 laborers from Odisha, 10 laborers from Punjab, 357 laborers from Rajasthan, one thousand 664 laborers from Tamil Nadu, 3 laborers from Tripura, 842 laborers from Uttar Pradesh, 24 laborers from Uttarakhand and 41 laborers from West Bengal. Safely transported to his home state.
Officials said that free lodging, water bottle, mask sanitizer etc. are being arranged for the trapped workers in various districts of the state. Officials said that the state government has set up helpline numbers 0771-2443809, 9109849992 and 7587822800 for stranded workers in other states of the country outside Chhattisgarh and Chhattisgarh. Similarly, helpline numbers have also been set up in all 27 districts.
