PM Modi says opposition parties misleading people on Budget

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said opposition parties have been deliberately misleading the people of the country on the recently presented Union Budget. Speaking at BJP’s parliamentary party meeting, which is attended by the members of the Parliament (MPs) in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Modi said the Budget was good given the economic situation in India as well as globally.

The Budget was presented on 1 February by Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Modi also expressed his pleasure over the recent Bodo accord and settlement of Bru-Reang tribe in Tripura. At the meeting, senior leaders and union ministers discussed the threat of coronavirus in the country.

The parliamentarians congratulated newly-appointed party president JP Nadda, who is an MP in Rajya Sabha and a former union minister. This is the first parliamentary party meeting of BJP during the ongoing Budget session and after the appointment of Nadda as party chief.
