Immediate reaction/response/reality of Premdendra Agrawal’s latest articles of today and July 18, 09:
The US president has said police acted “stupidly” when they arrested a black Harvard scholar outside his own home…. Barack Obama said the US had a long history of African-Americans being disproportionately stopped by police………. He said that when he was in the Illinois state legislature, he had worked towards a racial profiling bill because there was indisputable evidence that African-Americans and Hispanics were being stopped disproportionately. “And that is a sign, an example of how race remains a factor in the society,” he said.
Reality of above racism example may be read in the following article which is written few hours before the statement of President Obama comes into media:
George Bush’s visit of last year in Iraq had been overshadowed by an incident in which not one but two shoes were thrown at him during a news conference. Mr Zaidi, a correspondent for Cairo-based al-Baghdadiya TV, was then wrestled to the ground by security personnel and hauled away.
Kalam was reportedly made to wait on the aerobridge at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here on April 24 as the Continental Airlines’ staff spent several minutes debating whether to put him under the scanner. Kalam was then asked to take of his shoes, hand over his mobile and bag and go through a complete body check.
The above incident shows that though U S citizens elected black Obama as their President but still racism is present in the blood of Americans and other Europeans.
Is Crime of Continental Airline’s staff is not greater than Mr Zaidi? What is the difference between shoe throwing culture and the uncivilized behavior shown by America Airlines?
On Thursday asked Pakistan to “show the same force” in fighting anti-India terrorists on its soil as it has done in combating the Taliban and other militants ranged against the West. “Pakistan has taken certain steps like fighting the Taliban in the Swat valley,” external affairs minister SM Krishna told journalists when asked if Islamabad was showing commitment in fighting terrorists who target India.
“We expect Pakistan should go after the terrorists, who are targeting India, with the same force,” he added.
It may or may not be the reaction of today’s above TOI’s article which may be judged on the following article of July 18, 2009 22:15:
America tries to convert brave lion into cowardly lion at Sharm-el-Sheikh
Are we not the heirs of Bharat who played with lions in his childhood? The cowardly lon’ is most probably the most famous lion in television TV culture outside of the MGM film mascot. Cowardly lion was created by American author L. Frank Baum and featured in his book: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900).
On June 24, 09 America approved tripling U.S. aid to Pakistan to about $1.5 billion a year for each of the next five years, part of an American plan to fight extremism with economic development. But not a single dollar is given or spent for destroying the Anti-India terrorist camp in Pakistan.
US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has once again highlighted that Pakistan is a terror safe haven and said that Al-Qaeda’s leadership is based in that country. American aid to Pakistan is only for the fight against Al-Qaeda, not for stopping terror attacks on India from the land of Pakistan.
