Chhattisgarh government will organise state-level Youth Festival every year. The event will be held to mark the birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekanand.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel made the announcement to this regard on Tuesday while addressing the concluding ceremony of the three-day fest held here at local Science College ground.
He also declared of awarding honorarium of Rs 500 to each of the participant in the fest.
About 7,000 artistes performed their art in 821 genres in the three-day long fest. Apart from folk songs and dance, traditional sports of the state were also put on display by the young talents.
In folk dance competition, Raipur districts’ team was adjudged the first while Bilaspur and Dhamtari secured second and third positions respectively. Similarly in folk song competition, Rajnandgaon bagged the first prize while Gariaband and Raipur were declared the first and second runners up.
