Cong hopeful of record victory

Chhattisgarh’s ruling Congress claimed on Sunday that it would all set to register record victory in civic bodies’ polls which were held across the state on Saturday. The results will be announced on Tuesday.

In a statement, Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary and chairman PCC’s communication wing Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said the Congress had taken decisive lead in the elections and claimed that the mandate was given by the people in favour of the party candidates in the just concluded elections.

It was the hard work and joint effort of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his cabinet colleagues, PCC Chief Mohan Markam and MLAs of the party which would translate into the big win, he added.
