Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday expressing concern over overuse of chemical fertilizer by farmers here had appealed to them to go for bio-fertilizer for maintaining the productivity of land.
Addressing a public meeting at Gandhi Chowk, Baghel while citing reports expressed his apprehension on excess use of chemical fertilizer and called for using cow-dung generated composed bio fertilizer.
Speaking on this occasion, he also declared establishing an Agro-Mall in Dhamtari for ensuring market for farmers.
Reiterating that Narva Garva Ghurva Badi (NGGB) would boost the rural economy, he termed it a big movement launched by the state government. An assured income to rural populace would be there with maintaining ground water level by water conservation under Narva, he said. Similarly he enumerated the benefits of constructing cowsheds, dumping ground of bio waste and of developing kitchen garden by the villagers.
Baghel later assured that the state government was committed to procure paddy at Rs 2500 per quintal as promised in their manifesto. The purchase of it would be commenced well in time from December 1, he added.
