Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today declared the famous Chhattisgarhi song “Arpa Parri Ke Dhar Mahanadi O Apar” by Rajendra Dev Varma at the Rajyotsava held at the Science College ground. Rich in versatility, litterateur and linguist Dr. Narendra Dev Verma was born on 4 November 1939 in Sevagram Wardha and died on 8 September 1979 in Raipur. Dr. Narendra Dev Varma was, in fact, a serious poet who identified Chhattisgarhi language-identity. Apart from being a profound scholar of Hindi literature, he was also a skilled speaker, serious professor, linguist and music-penetrating singer. His elder brother Bramhaline Swami Atmanand ji had a great impact on his life. He received Ph.D. from Ravi Shankar University in “The Evolution of Chhattisgarhi Language and Literature.” Has received the title of.
In Chhattisgarhi language and literature did a great work of development in chronological order. He was a poet, playwright, novelist, storyteller, critic and linguist. He composed the Chhattisgarhi song collection “Apoorva”. Apart from this, wrote the book “Morning Finding (Hindi Novel)”, Chhattisgarhi language development, Hindi scholasticism experimentalist, new poetry theory and creation, Hindi neo-scholasticism etc. Chhattisgarhi skit written by him “Mola Guru Banai Leete” is very popular. Dr. Narendra Dev Verma is the first major writer of Chhattisgarh who was equally gifted by writing in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi. If he wanted, he would achieve fame only by writing in Hindi. But he expended himself for Chhattisgarhi’s prosperity.
Dr. Narendra Dev Verma received his MA from Sagar University. Passed the examination and in 1966 he was awarded Ph.D. for his dissertation on experimental poetry and literature. Got the title of He did his MA in Linguistics from Pandit Ravi Shankar University in 1973. He passed his second examination in the same year and on the basis of his dissertation on the topic “The Evolution of Chhattisgarhi Development” in the same year, he also received Ph.D.
