Deposited Rs 19.12 lakh Rs. in the account of 6556 workers for immediate arrangement
Migrant workers of Chhattisgarh are trapped in 20 states and four union territories of the country
The State Government, under the direction of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel provided relief for migrant workers of Chhattisgarh stranded in other states, affected by the lockdown till 14 April 4 pm. 64 thousand 416 labors were provided with food, lodging and medical facilities including other necessary arrangements by providing relief to them. So far, about 19 lakh 12 thousand rupees have also been deposited in the account of six thousand 556 workers for immediate arrangement. Information has been received regarding the workers of Chhattisgarh being in a state of crisis in 20 other states and four union territories of the country.
Officers of the labor department told here today that as a temporary arrangement to provide relief to 6556 workers in distress by the Chhattisgarh government, Rs. 15 lakh 45 thousand is deposited in the account of 4879 workers of district Bemetara, 1 lakh 73 thousand Rs deposited in the accounts of 1483 workers of Mungeli district. One lakh 94 thousand rupees has been deposited in the accounts of 194 workers of Kabirdham district, with reference to 1000 rs/ per worker.
It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh government has constituted a team of officers to monitor the problems of labors in other states of the country for speedy monitoring. For this, helpline numbers have been set up at the state level including the helpline numbers 0771-2443809, 91098-49992, 75878-22800 at the state level by the Labor Department. Problems of labors received through helpline numbers are being registered and solutions are being brought up as soon as possible. On the direction of the Chief Minister, under the guidance of the Secretary of Labor Department, Mr. Sonmoni Borah the problems of the workers are being resolved as soon as possible by constantly coordinating with the local administration of other states.
Officials said that the problems of the distressed and needy laborers in the situation arising amidst lockdown are being resolved immediately. Workers from 28 districts of Chhattisgarh have been reported to be trapped in 20 other states and four union territories. Maximum labors stranded in other states have been reported in Jammu with 15 thousand 855, 11 thousand 718 in Maharashtra, 10 thousand 365 in Uttar Pradesh, 7 thousand 927 in Telangana, 5 thousand 599 in Gujarat and one thousand 686 workers in Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, in Himachal Pradesh 1 thousand 575, one thousand 427 in Karnataka, one thousand 404 in Tamil Nadu and one thousand 228 workers in Delhi have been reported through various means including helpline numbers.
According to the officials, in the situation arising due to the lockdown, the workers in distress or stranded were six thousand 144 from Mungeli in Chhattisgarh, five thousand 850 from Kabirdham, five thousand 365 from Rajnandgaon, 11 thousand 159 from Janjgir-Champa, 20 thousand 424 from Balodabazar. Three thousand 559 from Bemetra, two thousand 112 from Raigad, four thousand 129 from Bilaspur, 464 from Surajpur, one thousand 187 from Durg, 332 from Balod, 622 from Gariaband, one thousand 352 from Raipur and others Ba District 327, is trapped 424 workers from Mahasamund. These are being monitored continuously by the nodal officers of the state government in coordination with the administrative officers, factory managers, planners and contractors of other states and their necessary arrangements, including the food and proper drinking facilities are being ensured.
