A day after various exit polls painted a grim picture for Congress, party national general secretary and incharge of eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday sent an audio message to party workers, telling them not to get ‘demoralised’ and to remain ‘vigilant’ until counting was over. Exit polls by most agencies have indicated a clear mandate for the incumbent Narendra Modi government.
“Pyare karyakarta behno aur bhaiyon, afwahon aur exit polls se himmat mat hariye, ye apka hausla todne ke liye phailai jaa rahi hain (My dear sisters and brothers, don’t get disheartened by rumours and exit polls. They are aimed at crushing your confidence and morale),” she said in her half-aminute message, which was circulated among scores of party workers.
