Bengaluru’s law enforcement struck a decisive blow against narcotics peddlers with a series of meticulously planned raids that netted drugs worth over Rs 20 crore on the black market. Six suspects—two from neighboring states and four residents—were nabbed in Yeshwanthpur and Nandini Layout for distributing MDMA and hydro ganja to unsuspecting youth and college-goers.

Intelligence from reliable sources prompted the Yeshwanthpur and Nandini Layout stations to act swiftly, filing NDPS Act cases beforehand. The gang bought contraband cheaply from elusive suppliers and flipped it for massive profits, exploiting vulnerable demographics.

Raiders seized 8.058 kg of MDMA, 5.7 kg of hydro ganja, four deal-making phones, and a vehicle. The haul’s street value stands at Rs 20.10 crore, double the Rs 10.05 crore procurement estimate, underscoring the racket’s profitability.

Efforts to apprehend the upstream suppliers persist as probes deepen. The accused face court proceedings and judicial remand.

Key figures in the success include DCP North B.S. Nemagouda, ACP Mary Shailaja, Inspector Manjunath S., and Inspector Ganapati R.L.

Meanwhile, a burglary syndicate unraveled in Indiranagar yielded Rs 1.15 crore in loot, closing 18 cases citywide. North-East police also reclaimed 692 mobiles valued at Rs 1.75 crore, boosting public safety amid rising urban crimes.
