Assam’s electorate has delivered a thumping verdict in favor of continuity, handing the BJP-led NDA a hat-trick victory in the state assembly polls. With leads on more than 100 seats out of 126, the alliance is set to retain power comfortably. BJP alone commands 82 seats in trends – 51 victories in the bag and leads on 31 others – while partners AGP and BPF add 10 each.

In his first reaction, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lit up X with jubilation. ‘Hat-trick with a century!’ he declared initially, before delving deeper into the significance. Thanking voters for their third endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Sarma lauded the grassroots efforts of BJP workers led by Nitin Navin and Amit Shah’s strategic guidance.

‘This win is a mandate for development, nari shakti (women’s power), asmita (identity), and our dream of a developed Assam,’ Sarma elaborated. From the Barak Valley to Brahmaputra plains, and across upper and lower regions, the people have united behind themes of progress and pride, he noted. Bowing in humility, the CM pledged renewed vigor to rank Assam among India’s elite states.

Congress manages leads on 19 seats, with just one win so far, highlighting NDA’s sweep. Sarma’s post reflects not just electoral success but a blueprint for the future: secure borders, empowered women, and economic upliftment. As celebrations erupt across the state, this hat-trick cements BJP’s Northeast fortress, setting the stage for ambitious reforms ahead.
