Bihar’s law enforcement machinery is in full swing post-political shift, relentlessly pursuing outlaws with deadly precision. The latest victim of this campaign is Sonu Yadav, a Rs 25,000 bounty fugitive, taken down in a pre-dawn shootout in Siwan’s Bardhia police station limits on Sunday.

Accused of gunning down Harsh Kumar, nephew of prominent BJP leader Manoj Singh, Sonu’s crime spree left Chandan Singh, a family member, fighting for life in hospital. Reliable tip-offs alerted police to Sonu’s suspicious trajectory toward Bardhia, prompting an immediate ambush setup.

When cornered, the criminal duo unleashed a barrage of bullets. Undeterred, the police team fired back effectively, striking Sonu critically. He was evacuated to medical facility but succumbed to injuries en route.

Authorities have Chhotu Yadav in custody, leg wounded from the exchange, alongside another suspect from whom the getaway vehicle in the murder case was seized. This follows the elimination of Ramdhani Yadav in Bhagalpur, who killed a municipal executive in cold blood, injuring cops in that fray.

These encounters reflect a robust policing resurgence in Bihar, targeting kingpins and restoring public faith through swift, unyielding action against the underworld.
