In a stirring address, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the Indian military’s extraordinary heroism that turned ‘Operation Sindoor’ into an immortal milestone of bravery in the nation’s defence annals.

At the inaugural anniversary ‘Shaurya’ programme in New Delhi, Singh underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in pursuing decisive action against terrorism without compromise. He praised the timeless ethos of ‘nation above all’ and selfless service that defines Indian troops from historic battles to contemporary operations.

Beyond combat prowess, Singh spotlighted the forces’ humanitarian role: first responders in disasters, providing relief across borders. ‘Our jawans safeguard the homeland with weapons and extend lifelines of aid during emergencies – that’s their hallmark glory,’ he remarked.

The gala fused martial spirit with cultural performances by luminaries such as Anup Jalota, Kailash Kher, Harshdeep Kaur and Manoj Muntashir, attended by top brass including CDS Gen Anil Chauhan and others.

Challenging the notion of valour versus arts, Singh asserted their interdependence. He elaborated on military music’s power to forge discipline and unity, embedding personal resolve into collective might – the bedrock of India’s armed forces tradition.

This commemoration not only honoured past sacrifices but also galvanized national pride, with leaders like Air Chief Marshal AP Singh and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta witnessing the spectacle of resilience and rhythm.
