Israel Hits Hezbollah Targets in Lebanon, Evacuates 7 Villages

Tensions flared anew on the northern front as Israel’s military conducted airstrikes deep into southern Lebanon, prompting evacuation alerts for seven border villages. The IDF’s actions targeted Hezbollah’s offensive infrastructure, marking a stern response to ceasefire violations.

Spokesperson Avichai Adraee took to social media to deliver the message: residents of Mejfadoun, Shukin, Yahmar, Arnoun, Joter Sharkiya, Joter Garbiya, and Kafr Tibnit must vacate immediately. The buildings struck housed planning centers for attacks on Israel and its troops.

This followed Hezbollah’s drone assault on IDF positions late Sunday, where two explosives failed to hit their marks but signaled escalating hostilities. The IDF labeled it a direct truce infraction.

Prior discoveries included a stockpile of anti-tank missiles found by the 146th Division. Strikes demolished Radwan Force-linked structures and an arms depot brimming with munitions.

In a separate incident, Israeli jets downed a Lebanese-originated drone threat, triggering sirens in the north. Further hits neutralized launchers in strategic spots like Dir al-Zahrani, Kfar Reman, and Al-Samiya.

The military emphasized its commitment: protecting citizens and soldiers remains paramount. These measures, aligned with official policy, aim to dismantle Hezbollah’s arsenal before it can be deployed against Israel.

As the fragile peace hangs by a thread, Israel’s preemptive strategy highlights the persistent volatility along the Blue Line, where cross-border skirmishes have simmered since the Gaza conflict’s spillover.
