The pulse of Gujarat’s grassroots democracy beats strong today with local body elections captivating the state. Voting is live on 9,263 of 10,005 contested seats across 48,450 booths, under heavy security blankets until 6 PM.

Leading by action, CM Bhupendra Patel marked his ballot in Ahmedabad’s Sheila constituency. Deputy CM Harsh Sanghvi followed suit in Surat, turning the moment into a rallying cry for the younger generation.

Post-voting, Sanghvi addressed aspiring voters with warmth. ‘Greetings, young compatriots. For many, this is your debut in local elections. May it bring prosperity to your lives.’

Linking the polls to broader ambitions, he declared, ‘We—my family, city, and state—are aligned with PM Modi’s development agenda. This is Gujarat’s hour to unite and script history. My vote today fuels faster progress.’

Ahmedabad’s 190 corporation seats see 38 lakh-plus voters in action. In Kheda, Vadtal Swaminarayan Temple’s 600+ saints voted alongside staff, a testament to spiritual civic duty.

‘Voting is fundamental to democracy. Local services depend on it; awareness is key,’ shared an Ahmedabad resident.

Jamnagar BJP head Beena Ben Kothari pressed, ‘Municipal elections underway—vote, citizens!’ Bardoli MP Parshottam Rupala intensified the appeal: ‘Celebrate democracy with 100% polling in these self-governance polls. It’s our ethical responsibility as Indians.’

From urban hubs to rural pockets, Gujarat’s electorate shapes its future through these elections, promising a verdict on local leadership and visionary growth.
