In a display of fitness and camaraderie, Bengaluru hosted the TCS World 10K on Sunday, attracting over 30,000 participants worldwide. The race brought together political heavyweights, turning streets into a celebration of health and endurance.

Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah braved the humid conditions, admitting the start was overly ambitious. ‘Bengaluru’s crowd gave me unmatched boost—no other city matches this passion,’ he reflected.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya highlighted the event’s scale and significance. ‘India, especially Bengaluru, is becoming a running powerhouse. With PM Modi’s push for wellness, fitness is revolutionizing lives across ages,’ he stated.

Mysuru’s MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, a regular, relished the vibe. ‘Third or fourth time here, and it’s always phenomenal—pure energy and community spirit.’

Karnataka Congress MLA NA Harris viewed it as a state pride booster, inspiring masses to prioritize health.

The presence of Shivshri Skandaprasad, wife of Tejasvi Surya and a noted vocalist, added flair. ‘Early mornings and runs are now routine. The cheering strangers embody India’s fitness awakening—I’m hooked and eyeing more races,’ she said.

This cross-party participation underscored a shared commitment to wellness, positioning Bengaluru as India’s premier running hub amid a national health surge.
