Intense heatwave conditions continue to plague the National Capital Region, pushing temperatures to extreme levels. According to weather forecasts, April 24 and 25 will be the hottest days, with daytime highs reaching 43°C and nights barely cooling to 25-26°C. Expect blistering hot winds in the afternoon and evening, exacerbating discomfort for millions.

Today’s readings confirmed the 43°C maximum, setting the stage for a similar Friday. But change is imminent. Starting April 26, a marginal drop to 42°C maximum is anticipated, with partial cloud cover and chances of thunderous light rain at isolated spots. The trend continues favorably till April 29, maintaining 41-42°C highs under overcast skies, without any alerts from meteorologists.

Air pollution adds to the woes, with AQI levels alarming in key NCR areas. Delhi’s Anand Vihar spiked to 318, entering the red danger zone. Ghaziabad’s Loni reached 361, and Ved Vihar-Loni 353—both severely hazardous. Orange zone readings persist in Sanjay Nagar (293), Indirapuram (272), Govindpuram (238), Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park-5 (318), and Knowledge Park-3 (235).

Delhi spots like Ashok Vihar (219), Chandni Chowk (210), CRRI Mathura Road (194), and Burari Crossing (179) fare marginally better but still unhealthy. Dusty winds are fueling these spikes, prompting advice for ample hydration, minimal outdoor time, and mask usage for sensitive populations.

Meteorologists predict that incoming clouds and drizzle will ease both heat and haze, offering a breather. Stay prepared, as this heatwave tests endurance before cooler winds arrive.
