Tensions simmer in Madhya Pradesh politics as the BJP moves against one of its own. Pichhore legislator Pritam Singh Lodhi received a stern show-cause notice from the party high command over inflammatory remarks targeting a sub-divisional police officer.
The Wednesday directive from provincial chief Hemant Khandelwal gives Lodhi 72 hours to justify his actions, or face the music. The party cited his ‘objectionable behavior’ as a direct violation of disciplinary norms.
This crackdown follows the IPS Association’s strong protest on Tuesday. Multiple social media videos captured Lodhi menacing Karera SDOP Ayush Jakhar, issuing ultimatums laced with personal insults extending to the officer’s family.
The flashpoint was a tragic April 16 crash in Pichhore, where Lodhi’s son Dinesh Lodhi’s SUV struck five people. Dinesh’s claim of using a siren and questioning why pedestrians didn’t yield ignited fury online.
Enraged, the MLA accused authorities of a vendetta orchestrated from Delhi. He complained of vehicle seizure and his son’s detention at the station.
Footage reveals Lodhi threatening a mob march to Jakhar’s residence within 15 days if performance falters, vowing to ‘stuff it with dung.’ He defiantly proclaimed his son’s liberty to travel freely or run for office, challenging enforcement.
“Karera isn’t your dad’s turf,” he sneered in one clip, while another showed him rallying imaginary hordes to assert dominance. Separately, he had targeted Shivpuri SP Aman Singh Rathore publicly.
“Such antics shame public office and erode administrative morale,” declared IPS chief Chanchal Shekhar.
With videos amplifying the scandal, the BJP’s intervention aims to restore order. Lodhi’s deadline approaches, testing the party’s resolve to discipline rogue elements. This saga highlights deeper rifts in MP’s power corridors, where political clout clashes with institutional authority.
