In a fiery rebuttal, Delhi government minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has demanded that Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge retract his derogatory comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and seek forgiveness from the country. The row centers on Kharge’s alleged disdain for Modi’s humble origins as a tea seller, which Sirsa says reveals Congress’s elitist mindset.
Releasing a video statement, Sirsa condemned the use of such words, calling it unbecoming of a national party leader. He pointed out this pattern in Congress’s behavior: whenever out of power, they target the PM with abusive language to mask their failures.
Sirsa argued that Kharge’s statement undermines constitutional values and democratic norms. ‘Democracy allows dissent, but not this level of hatred,’ he said, insisting on an unconditional apology.
Echoing these sentiments, BJP leader Kapil Mishra branded Congress as enablers of divisive forces, devoid of manners or meaningful agenda. Delhi BJP president Veerendra Sachdeva labeled the comments a direct attack on the people’s verdict, exposing the opposition’s declining political ethics.
‘Such language insults our democratic ethos and national pride,’ Sachdeva added. This clash highlights deepening divides in Indian politics, with BJP portraying Congress as arrogant and out of touch. As public opinion sways, Kharge faces mounting pressure to respond.
