Bihar’s BJP chief Sanjay Sarawgi made headlines during his Tuesday visit to Sitamarhi’s iconic Punaura Dham, where he paid obeisance to Devi Sita. Amidst chants and floral welcomes from party cadres, Sarawgi shared his bold vision: Punaura Dham will soon captivate Ram devotees worldwide, especially those heading to Ayodhya.

In his second trip to the site, Sarawgi noted rapid infrastructure upgrades. “Ram bhakts visiting Ayodhya will make it a point to stop here,” he told reporters, painting a picture of the temple as an emerging international landmark. The warm reception by BJP workers fueled his resolve to champion public service.

Turning to current affairs, Sarawgi fiercely countered Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s barbs at PM Modi. “Such remarks on a constitutional office are a blot on democracy and reveal Congress’s frustration,” he stated, demanding a public apology. He stressed that while dissent is democratic, indecorous speech is unacceptable.

Extending felicitations to newly elected JD(U) legislature party leader Shrawan Kumar, Sarawgi lauded his commitment to welfare and governance. Regarding the women’s reservation bill, he accused opponents of derailing a historic proposal for 33% seats for women alongside expanding Parliament, unmasking their regressive agenda.

This high-profile endorsement positions Punaura Dham as a bridge between ancient mythology and modern tourism. With BJP’s push, the temple’s star is set to rise, potentially reshaping pilgrimage routes across India and beyond.
