Pankaj Nayar, accompanied by his brother Paras, clashed fiercely with Gaurav Sharma over a parking space at approximately 2:20 AM on Monday. In the heat of the moment, Gaurav pulled out a firearm and shot Pankaj in the chest. The injured man was hurried to a local private facility, where doctors pronounced him dead.
An FIR was promptly filed against Gaurav under key BNS provisions including murder (Section 103-1), grievous hurt (115/2), common intention (3/5), and relevant Arms Act clauses (25, 27). The postmortem was conducted at LBS Hospital, as per standard procedure.
East District’s crack teams—comprising Preet Vihar personnel, specialists, and ASB members—launched a multi-pronged investigation. They scoured CCTV recordings, deployed tech surveillance, conducted extensive ground searches, and tapped into community intel.
Breakthrough came through persistent CCTV scrutiny and actionable intelligence, pinpointing the perpetrators. Gaurav Sharma (42, local resident), shooter in the incident, was apprehended alongside aide Sunil Sharma (41) and his stepson Siddharth.
