Ganderbal SSP Sudhanshu Dham (IPS) made a detailed assessment of arrangements at Baltal base camp on Tuesday, gearing up for the Amarnath Yatra 2026. The inspection aimed to gauge the pace and quality of measures being put in place for the pilgrimage’s safe conduct.
Key areas under scrutiny included housing provisions, transportation logistics, security deployments, emergency protocols, and inter-agency collaboration. The focus remained on guaranteeing foolproof safety, effective crowd control, and uninterrupted facilities for thousands of yatris.
Extending his review to the Domel route, the SSP pinpointed spots needing immediate attention and instructed teams to preemptively resolve potential issues. ‘No room for complacency—pilgrims’ comfort is paramount,’ he emphasized.
Senior police personnel and departmental officials joined the SSP, providing updates on progress. He called for seamless teamwork across forces and a forward-thinking strategy to tackle any hurdles.
With Ganderbal police fully geared up, SSP Dham reaffirmed their pledge to deliver an incident-free Yatra. Officials were exhorted to uphold top-tier vigilance and service throughout the holy expedition.
