Thousands of women took to Lucknow’s streets in a fiery ‘People’s Anger Women’s Foot March’ organized by BJP, protesting the stalled women’s reservation bill. Under CM Yogi Adityanath’s guidance, the rally traversed from his official home to the state assembly, featuring prominent leaders like Brijesh Pathak and Keshav Maurya.

The heatwave did little to deter participation, as speakers unleashed scathing critiques. Cabinet Minister Ashish Patel recalled the 2023 bill’s smooth parliamentary journey, only for opposition to flip-flop at implementation stage. ‘They’re plotting to rob women of empowerment,’ he charged.

Bebi Rani Maurya didn’t hold back, branding Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav as culprits who derailed the 33% reservation promise. ‘Come 2027, women voters will deliver the verdict,’ she proclaimed to roaring crowds. Anil Kumar pointed to PM Modi’s vision blocked by naysayers, fueling nationwide indignation.

Joining the chorus were Rajni Tiwari, Om Prakash Rajbhar, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, and Women’s Commission figures Aparna Yadav and Pushpa Pandey. They decried politicizing women’s dignity and urged unity for national interest. The procession, alive with slogans and banners, highlighted simmering frustrations likely to reshape electoral dynamics.

This mobilization isn’t just a protest; it’s a clarion call reshaping India’s political discourse on gender equality. With vows of sustained agitation, BJP has ignited a movement that promises to echo in legislatures and ballot boxes alike.
