India’s clean fuel revolution gains momentum as over 39,000 households bid farewell to LPG cylinders, opting instead for the convenience of PNG. Announced by the government on Sunday, this move underscores a broader push for sustainable energy via the MYPNGD.in portal.

Efforts to stabilize energy supplies involve strict oversight under key legislations, partnering with states to prevent malpractices like stockpiling. Repeated directives urge states to prioritize fuel availability, backed by ongoing dialogues and high-stakes reviews.

Recent meetings led by petroleum ministry officials have mandated daily media updates from states, debunking online rumors, and coordinated crackdowns at the district level with fuel firms.

Enforcement peaked with nationwide raids on April 18 targeting more than 2,400 sites against LPG misuse. Oil majors have penalized 264 dealers with fines and blacklisted 67 dealerships for non-compliance.

PNG infrastructure is booming, adding 4.85 lakh connections since March 2026, alongside 5.43 lakh registrations. Leading distributors such as IGL, MGL, GAIL Gas, and BPCL entice users with tailored promotions for homes and businesses.

Innovative policies tie additional LPG quotas to PNG expansion achievements, aiding 22 regions. Infrastructure nods are accelerated through a dedicated three-month drive by transport authorities.

Uninterrupted gas flow supports priorities: full supply for PNG homes and CNG autos, 95% for fertilizers, and 80% for industries, fortifying India’s energy security.
