Intensifying their war on drugs, Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell struck gold in Khar, apprehending a foreign national peddling high-value narcotics. The seizure of cocaine and MDMA tablets totaling Rs 2.21 crore highlights the persistent threat in the city’s nightlife hubs, particularly after the shocking Nesco party raid.

The drama unfolded during a routine patrol by the Worli ANC team. At 11:15 PM on Saturday, behind Sea Sand Building on Shirley Rajan Road, they eyed a fidgety African man with a bag. Spotting the cops, he attempted to flee but was cornered. Eze Ezekiel Nazoku, 39, a Naigaon resident originally from Nigeria, spilled the beans during questioning.

His bag hid 113 grams of pure cocaine, market value Rs 2.14 crore, alongside 45 rectangular yellow MDMA ecstasy pills (24 grams) worth Rs 7.20 lakh. The pills’ distinctive ‘Audi RS’ logo and four-ring emblem point to distribution in elite party scenes. Additional finds included his passport, Indian visa, and two phones ripe for forensic analysis.

Police are tracing his connections through mobile data and transactions, suspecting a broader racket. The Nesco incident has supercharged operations across western suburbs, clubs, and event venues. This arrest serves as a stark reminder of foreign networks infiltrating Mumbai’s social fabric, preying on partygoers.

As investigations deepen, authorities vow relentless pursuit to eradicate drug supply chains, protecting the youth from substance abuse’s grip.
