In the lead-up to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s 133rd birth anniversary, UP CM Yogi Adityanath shared a reflective post on X, hailing the Constitution framer’s enduring relevance. ‘April 14 marks the sacred jayanti of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, whose vision granted dignity to millions,’ he wrote.
Delving into Ambedkar’s intellectual prowess, Yogi noted his advocacy for fiscal federalism and passion for education. The most educated Indian of his era, Ambedkar’s library boasted 35,000+ volumes, with daily study marathons of up to 18 hours.
Yogi recounted a humane story: Ambedkar’s aide Sudama, dozing outside after a late-night film, awoke to find his master’s overcoat draped over him – a testament to the reformer’s empathy.
Translating ideals into action, Yogi’s administration ensures welfare reaches every poor, deprived, woman, and youth. From free rations and homes to sanitation, health services, and women’s ownership rights, no one is left behind. Key initiatives include scholarships, community weddings, housing schemes, and elite Atal schools for underprivileged kids.
Revamping Ambedkar hostels will boost education for Dalits and vulnerable groups. UP has lifted over 60 million from poverty’s grip, now pushing ‘Zero Poverty’ under Ambedkar’s guidance.
‘Adopting Babasaheb’s thoughts will build a cohesive, strong, wealthy state,’ Yogi affirmed, calling on families to stock bookshelves and nurture reading habits in children to realize the great man’s vision.
