Development accelerated in Abujhmad under the leadership of the Chief Minister and administrative efforts

Raipur, April 12, 2026 // A new picture of development is emerging in Nelangur, a border village in Orchha block of Narayanpur district, located at the end of Chhattisgarh. For the first time, tap water has started reaching every home in this formerly highly sensitive village bordering Maharashtra, bringing a significant change in the lives of the villagers.

After peace was established in Naxal-affected areas under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, development works have also gained momentum. Collector Namrata Jain informed that the water supply system has been initiated in this remote village under the ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission. Water is being lifted from the water source through solar pumps and delivered directly to homes through pipelines, reducing dependence on electricity and enabling uninterrupted water supply.

The villagers of Nelangur, located about 52 kilometers from the district headquarters Narayanpur, have been facing a drinking water crisis for a long time, but the solution to their problem is proving to be a welcome relief for the villagers. Especially women are now freed from the trouble of fetching water from far away. With the start of water supply in the village, daily life has become easier, and awareness about sanitation is also increasing.

The successful implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Nelangur is proof that government schemes are now effectively reaching remote and border areas. The administration is continuously making efforts to further strengthen the system and ensure regular water supply to every household. This initiative of solar pump-based water supply in Nelangur is not only an important step towards providing basic facilities but is also laying a new foundation of trust and development in the region.
