Delhi’s Mehrauli Archaeological Park transforms into a hub of history and creativity from April 13 to 18, courtesy of the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) inaugural Heritage Week. The initiative is laser-focused on awakening public interest in the capital’s architectural treasures, targeting youth to build lasting connections with their roots.

Expect a diverse lineup: interactive sessions for school kids on April 15-16 featuring debates, creative writing, drawing, and painting, all centered on heritage themes. A public heritage tour on April 17 invites everyone to explore the site’s ancient wonders up close.

Adding a digital twist, DDA teams up with MyGov for a nationwide online photo contest, where shutterbugs document Mehrauli’s splendor and share via the portal. Meanwhile, an ASI-backed exhibition will spotlight recent conservation projects in the region.

DDA has reached out to schools through the Delhi education directorate, pushing for widespread student turnout. The grand finale on April 18 promises award distributions, artwork displays, and an evening of soulful qawwali performances.

This event isn’t just a festival; it’s a call to action. By blending education, art, and exploration, DDA aims to instill a sense of pride and responsibility in Delhiites towards safeguarding their city’s storied past for future generations.
