Mercury Rising in Jharkhand: Temperatures to Hit 40 Degrees Soon

Residents across Jharkhand are being advised to prepare for a scorching summer as temperatures are expected to soar in the coming days. Following a brief spell of erratic weather that brought cooling rains, the atmosphere has stabilized, allowing intense sunlight to bake the plateau. The Meteorological Department has indicated that maximum temperatures in several districts could reach the 40-degree Celsius mark by next week as the dry spell continues.

On Saturday, the heating trend was already visible. While Ranchi recorded a maximum of 30.3 degrees Celsius, other major centers like Jamshedpur and Bokaro were significantly hotter, hovering around the 35-degree mark. The shift from a rain-cooled atmosphere to a clear, sunny sky has accelerated the evaporation of ground moisture, removing the natural cooling buffer and paving the way for a more intense heatwave-like situation across the state.
