The hallowed grounds of Wellington’s Defence Services Staff College echoed with pride as the 81st Staff Course concluded its passing-out ceremony. Chief guest Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh praised the graduates’ tenacity and urged them to embrace upcoming challenges with vigor.
During his keynote, Singh spotlighted the institution’s innovative programs promoting jointmanship across India’s three defence services. “In today’s multifaceted security environment, synergy among Army, Navy, and Air Force is non-negotiable,” he asserted. He lauded DSSC’s contributions to developing leaders capable of navigating contemporary battlefields.
Medals were conferred upon meritorious officers, while all participants received accolades for their unwavering commitment. Singh also held discussions with the cohort, which featured 44 officers from international partner nations, reinforcing bilateral military collaborations.
Defence attaches from various friendly countries graced the event, elevating its international dimension. Since its inception in 1948, DSSC has been a beacon of tri-service excellence, imparting advanced training to selected mid-level officers. Over 21,500 officers—Indian and foreign—have passed through its doors, many ascending to command key positions globally.
This ceremony not only celebrates individual milestones but also reaffirms DSSC’s enduring legacy in fortifying India’s strategic posture. Graduates depart equipped with enhanced skills, poised to drive operational excellence and inter-service harmony in defence operations.
