In a boost to Indo-Austrian diplomacy, Federal Chancellor of Austria Dr. Christian Stocker embarks on his first-ever official visit to Asia, specifically India, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. From April 14 to 18, Stocker and spouse Gerda Stocker-Legenstein will engage in a packed schedule in New Delhi.

Talks between the two leaders will delve into expanding bilateral horizons in energy security, commerce, investments, and tech partnerships, while addressing global issues like geopolitical tensions and climate concerns.

Arriving late on April 14 at Delhi’s T-3 terminal, the Chancellor travels with a delegation of economic heavyweights, energy experts, tourism officials, and business tycoons.

Day one, April 15, includes a strategic huddle with EAM S. Jaishankar at 5 PM in Hotel Imperial to streamline political consultations.

April 16 unfolds with a tribute at Raj Ghat, a pivotal summit with PM Modi at Hyderabad House, MoU signings, press briefings, and a presidential meet at 6 PM.

The visit wraps with Delhi programs on April 17 and departure on April 18 midnight. A special lunch hosted by PM Modi will celebrate the occasion.

Historically warm and multifaceted, India-Austria ties gained fresh impetus from PM Modi’s 2024 Austria sojourn. This reciprocal visit promises to unlock opportunities in emerging sectors, strengthen multilateral synergy, and solidify a partnership aligned with mutual democratic ethos for the future.
