West Bengal is on the cusp of dramatic change, declared Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a high-voltage rally in Debra, West Medinipur. Addressing supporters ahead of the April 23 voting, Shah painted a grim picture of Mamata Banerjee’s tenure and unveiled BJP’s blueprint for a resurgent state post-May 5.
‘Promising mother, soil, and citizens, she delivered unemployment, assaults on women, and farmer distress,’ Shah charged. Corruption and cut-money culture, fueled by syndicate muscle, have paralyzed progress, he added.
Shah zeroed in on illegal immigrants: ‘These infiltrators rob our young of opportunities, hog poor people’s rice, and spread mayhem. Mamata protects them; BJP will deport every last one after victory.’
The syndicate scourge infests markets, dictating prices for essentials. ‘Vote lotus, and BJP will flush them into the Ganges,’ he vowed. To TMC thugs: ‘Pack up before May 5 – our government means jail for harassers.’
Relief is at hand, Shah assured. Unemployed youth and sisters get Rs 3,000 monthly; farmers Rs 9,000 yearly. Recalling Ghatal’s floods, he highlighted Modi’s rejected Rs 1,500 crore plan. ‘TMC spurned it; BJP will deliver permanent solutions swiftly.’
On governance, Shah rejected remote control fears, promising a local BJP leader as CM. UCC will ensure equal laws, banning multiple marriages. With debt soaring to Rs 8 lakh crore, Banerjee prioritizes madrasas over deprived kids’ schools, he alleged. Contrasting Modi’s employment focus against her nepotism, Shah rallied the crowd for a ‘free Bengal’.
