President Droupadi Murmu’s two-day visit to Gujarat from April 13-14 promises to be a highlight for the state’s educational institutions. Kicking off with AIIMS Rajkot’s maiden convocation, the tour will celebrate the achievements of its pioneering MBBS batch.
On Saturday, 49 students will be conferred MBBS degrees at the Rajkot campus, with one standout receiving a virology post-doctoral certificate. President Murmu, as chief guest, will inspire the gathering with her address and distribute accolades, including 10 medals: four gold for top scholars, three silver, and three bronze.
The event anticipates 700 participants, from proud families to key dignitaries like Governor Acharya Devvrat, MoS Health Anupriya Patel, and Health Minister Rushikesh Patel. AIIMS Rajkot, founded in 2019 as a national importance institute, embodies India’s push for advanced medical training.
Sunday brings President Murmu to Gandhinagar for RRU’s fifth convocation at 5 PM. Operating under the Home Ministry, RRU specializes in national security and policing, reinforcing its status as a vital educational hub.
This visit follows her previous Gujarat trip in October 2023, featuring engagements at Gujarat Vidyapith. With preparations in full swing, the tour reaffirms the President’s role in elevating India’s academic landscape.
