In a boost to India’s rail revolution, Prime Minister’s top aide Dr. PK Mishra toured the groundbreaking Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor on April 10. Joined by advisor Tarun Kapoor, PMO officials, and Housing Ministry Secretary Srinivas Katikithala, the visit underscored the project’s national importance.
Starting at the sleek Sarai Kale Khan station, NCRTC chief Shalbh Goyal detailed the 82-km route’s role in revolutionizing connectivity. This corridor not only cuts commute times but also eases traffic snarls and curbs emissions, promoting equitable urban expansion.
Positioned as a multi-modal powerhouse, Sarai Kale Khan connects effortlessly with metro, trains, buses, and major roads, embodying the ‘Network of Networks’ vision. Dr. Mishra hailed this integration for minimizing car dependency and enhancing commuter convenience.
A hands-on ride to Duhai Depot revealed premium features like ergonomic seats, accessibility aids, and onboard medical provisions, earning widespread acclaim. Dr. Mishra spotlighted NCRTC’s green efforts, sharing insights for further refinement.
The highlight was the launch of the ‘Aparimit’ Innovation Center at Duhai, armed with virtual reality tools, augmented simulations, and advanced modeling to elevate training and operations. Tours of maintenance facilities followed, with the release of ‘Namo Bharat: India’s New-Age Mobility’ marking a milestone.
