In a stinging critique, BJP parliamentarian Praveen Khandelwal declared West Bengal’s opposition camp in freefall, with alliances crumbling under pressure. The trigger? The abrupt end to the tie-up between AIMIM and Humayun Kabir’s party, fueled by a controversial sting operation.

‘Opposition ranks are in chaos—their friendships and feuds shift whimsically,’ Khandelwal told IANS on Friday. He linked this turmoil to a deeper fear: Bengal’s electorate is poised to deliver an overwhelming victory to the BJP, propelling it to power under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stewardship.

Khandelwal elaborated on Bengal’s long-standing woes—issues like basic amenities and governance that previous leaders overlooked. ‘BJP’s dedicated cadre has earned the trust of Bengal’s masses through PM Modi’s guidance,’ he affirmed, positioning the party as the true champion of the people.

On the international front, he addressed escalating conflicts in West Asia, including Israeli actions against Lebanon. Contrasting this, he highlighted India’s respected global position, echoing Shashi Tharoor’s commendation of Modi’s diplomatic prowess in resolving intricate challenges.

Khandelwal also lauded the bumper turnout in recent assembly polls in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry. Such high participation, he noted, reflects a vibrant democracy where citizens actively exercise their franchise. With these insights, the BJP MP forecasts a transformative mandate in West Bengal.
