The talks aimed at reinforcing political outreach, commerce, defense cooperation, sustainable development, and interpersonal links between the two nations.
The session, led jointly by MEA’s Secretary (West) Siby George and Swedish State Secretary Dag Hartelius, provided a comprehensive assessment of bilateral progress. Discussions extended to pressing regional and international concerns, reflecting aligned strategic outlooks.
MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared insights via X, detailing the review of all facets of ties and agreements to intensify efforts in key sectors. The India-EU FTA was spotlighted as a game-changer, set to amplify economic interactions and technological exchanges between India and Sweden.
Preceding the FOC, EAM S. Jaishankar held talks with Hartelius, emphasizing momentum in bilateral ties and the broader India-EU framework. Their conversation underscored opportunities for deeper integration.
Recall February’s visit by Swedish Deputy PM Ebba Busch, who met Scindia to explore telecom and digital synergies. Scindia’s post-meeting remarks on X envisioned a forward-looking alliance rooted in innovation.
