How UP’s CM Yuva Scheme Launched 10K+ Youth-Led Startups

Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a startup revolution, thanks to the CM Yuva program that’s turning ambitious youth into successful entrepreneurs. With over 10,000 innovative ventures established, the Yogi government’s flagship scheme is fostering self-reliance and innovation on an unprecedented scale.

This initiative has instilled entrepreneurial spirit among the youth, evident from their foray into modern sectors. Nodal officer Sureshwar Shukla emphasized, ‘These schemes are boosting employment and positioning UP as a key player in Atmanirbhar Bharat.’ Notably, 10% of the startups feature innovative models, with plans to increase this to 25% in the current fiscal year.

Breaking down by sectors, food and restaurants dominate with 763 units. Computer training follows at 370, pathology sampling at 260, fast food at 253, franchises at 253, online teaching at 189, gyms at 170, mobile IT/digital at 120, travel/tourism and cloud kitchens at 117 each. This diversity showcases youth adaptability.

On the district front, Lucknow leads with 287 startups, trailed by Azamgarh (286), Hardoi (262), Jaunpur (~250), Ambedkar Nagar (241), Kanpur (236), Varanasi (229), Raebareli (225), Bareilly (208), and Firozabad (197). The program’s reach across districts highlights its inclusive impact.

Financial institutions have been instrumental, led by UP Gramin Bank (2,133 loans), SBI (1,549), Bank of Baroda (1,170), PNB (1,018), and others like Bank of India, Central Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Union Bank, and UCO Bank. This robust support system is accelerating UP’s journey towards a thriving startup economy.
