This directive not only protects exporter margins but also ties into the national RELIEF scheme worth Rs 497 crore, enabling swift claims and financial respite. Ports and operators face strict enforcement to uphold these standards, minimizing crisis-induced losses.
On the insurance front, shipping lines must ensure full documentation, while war risk premium hikes are under review with insurers to align with prior guidelines.
Complementing these economic safeguards, DG Shipping released an urgent advisory for Indian mariners near Iranian waters. Land-based seafarers should shelter indoors, steer clear of high-risk zones, and liaise with embassy officials for safe transit. Shipboard crew are cautioned against shore visits, prioritizing onboard safety.
