Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal spearheaded a series of strategic virtual meetings on Wednesday, engaging world leaders to reinforce India’s bilateral ties and propel trade growth amid evolving global dynamics.

Kicking off with UAE’s Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the talks delved into fortifying India-UAE trade relations and broadening collaboration prospects. Goyal shared on social media his excitement about pushing their strategic alliance to new heights.

Turning to Latin America, Goyal discussed with Chilean Foreign Minister Francisco Perez Mackenna the progress of FTA talks, identifying pathways to enhance trade and relations while aiming for a swift, win-win agreement.

With GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, the focus was on amplifying cooperation in diverse fields, reiterating shared dedication to robust economic and strategic partnerships between India and GCC nations.

Goyal’s dialogue with Kuwaiti Minister Osama Khalid Boudaei proved fruitful, covering expansions in bilateral trade and intensified collaboration across priority sectors.

In a parallel development, he spoke at the virtual unveiling of the India-USA Trade Facilitation Portal, praising its role in fostering direct links between exporters and importers to deepen bilateral trade.

Addressing recent hurdles, Goyal revealed ongoing governmental efforts to support exporters impacted by West Asian conflicts disrupting global supply chains. Inter-ministerial measures are in the pipeline, set for imminent rollout.
