Family Pleads for Help as Patna Man’s Body Stuck in Vietnam

In a heart-wrenching appeal, the family of Patna trader Bindda Prasad Singh is urging New Delhi to expedite the repatriation of his remains from Vietnam, where he died four days ago from a heart attack. Visa complications have turned their grief into a bureaucratic nightmare.

Speaking to media, widow Malti Devi poured out her sorrow: ‘Please, government, get my husband’s body and kids back home. Four days of waiting is torture. We’re broken as a family—no one understands our suffering.’

The timeline paints a picture of dashed hopes. Bindda last spoke to Malti on March 10 en route to the airport. A sudden cardiac arrest struck there, leading to hospitalization. A glimmer of hope came on March 24 when he briefly regained consciousness, but visa delays proved fatal as his health deteriorated.

‘PM Modi’s government always stands by people—now it’s our turn,’ Malti implored, noting her two children remain trapped abroad amid the visa mess preventing the body’s transport.

Granddaughter Manisha detailed the medical mishaps: an under-equipped hospital prompted a transfer recommendation, which was underway when Bindda’s condition worsened fatally. Vietnamese authorities’ reluctance, coupled with visa snarls, has left the Indian embassy scrambling despite being informed.

As the family clings to fading optimism, this case underscores the vulnerabilities Indians face overseas and the critical need for swift diplomatic action to bring their loved one home.
