Raipur, April 07, 2026/ Minister of Commerce, Industry, Labor, Excise and Public Sector Undertakings Department, Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan, today inaugurated the 1×5 MVA capacity 33/11 KV substation (CDEF Colony) built by Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited near Pushplata Garden at Subhash Chowk in Korba city by cutting a ribbon. He dedicated this important electrical infrastructure project, prepared at a cost of approximately ₹1.90 crore, to the people of the region.

This project further strengthens the continuous efforts being made by Minister Shri Dewangan to ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply in Korba city. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, he informed that various power projects are continuously being approved under the Chief Minister’s Electricity Infrastructure Scheme by the state’s Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, due to which the power system in the state is becoming stronger.

More than five thousand consumers in Kosabadi, Niharika, Ghantaghar, Budhwari, Kashi Nagar, CSEB Colony, RP Nagar, Shivaji Nagar and surrounding areas will directly benefit from the newly constructed substation. Until now, consumers in the Niharika area were supplied electricity from different feeders, due to which the supply to the entire area used to be disrupted if any one feeder failed. With the commencement of the substation, immediate and uninterrupted power supply can be ensured through an alternative line.

Minister Shri Dewangan said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, development work is continuously being done in the state and every guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is being fulfilled. He said that with the start of this new electric substation, the residents of the area will get relief from the increasing power pressure during the summer season. This substation was a significant need of the area for a long time, which has now been fulfilled.

Discussing the problems of consumers, he said that many families are unable to pay their electricity bills on time due to financial reasons, due to which the surcharge increases and paying the bill becomes difficult. Keeping this problem in mind, the state government has implemented the Samadhan Yojana, which is providing great relief to the consumers. Camps are also being organized in various wards for the effective implementation of the scheme.

Mayor Mrs. Sanju Devi Rajput, public representatives, departmental officers, and a large number of local citizens were present at the inauguration ceremony.
