Russian forces reported the downing of 112 Ukrainian drones within a 24-hour period. The Ministry of Defence confirmed these strikes. Additionally, Russian forces targeted port infrastructure, reportedly used for military purposes. The Ukrainian Air Force indicated that Russia launched an extensive attack involving 598 drones and 31 missiles across Ukraine, with a significant focus on the capital city, Kyiv. The attacks impacted approximately 33 locations throughout all 10 districts of the capital, with visible damage to buildings and shopping centers.

On August 27, a Russian missile barrage hit a residential building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, resulting in the deaths of at least 22 people, including four children. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to the families affected and mentioned that rescue operations and clearing efforts were ongoing at the site.
