The Indian government is accelerating the use of 20 percent ethanol-blended petrol (E20) in vehicles. However, some experts in the automobile industry suggest that this type of fuel may affect the fuel efficiency, or mileage, of vehicles. They believe that the use of E20 can lead to a 2 to 5 percent reduction in mileage.
