Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that the role of collectors will be extremely important in the implementation of the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. The Chief Minister was reviewing the preparations being made for the implementation of the Godhan Nyaya Yojana in a meeting held at his residence office here today. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said in the meeting that Gauthan committees have not been formed so far, Gauthan committees should be constituted immediately. Gothan committees should be formed with the approval of the ministers in-charge. He said that village shepherds should be made partners in the scheme. He received a share of the dividends from the sale of vermi compost.
The Chief Minister said that under the Godan Nyaya Yojana, the work of purchasing cow dung in the villages will be done by the Gothan Committees. The women’s self-help group and youth group will make work of vermi compost in Gothan. Similarly, room should be constructed in Gothan for storage of vermi compost. The Chief Minister said that green fodder arrangements should also be ensured for the animals coming into Gothanas. He also instructed to display the name of the Gothan committee which produces vermi compost on the packaging bags of vermi compost.
Mr. Baghel also instructed to add cow servants to the Gauthans and to ensure the visit of veterinarians there. He said that self-help groups should be trained for making vermi compost through Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Krishi Vigyan Kendras. NGOs can also be added to this work. The Chief Minister asked to make necessary preparations for implementation of the Godhan Nyaya Yojana in rural areas as well as urban areas. He said that cow dung should also be purchased from private dairies established in urban areas and women groups of urban areas should be added to the construction of vermi compost.

Through the presentation of PowerPoint, Dr. M. Geeta, Commissioner of Agricultural Production informed the outline of the implementation of the scheme. He informed that in the first phase of Godan Nyaya Yojana, in 2200 Gauthans, cow dung was purchased and the work of making vermi compost will start. The collector will monitor the implementation of the Godhan Nyaya Yojana in all the Gothans located in the district. Along with this, they will cooperate in the selection of vermi composting groups by the Gothan committees. Collectors have been given the responsibility to construct necessary vermi tanks from MNREGA in Gothans and provide necessary resources for processing vermi manure. The Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat will work to coordinate with the departments concerned for the effective implementation of the Godhan Nyaya Yojana at the district level.
Cow dung will be purchased from cattle ranchers by Gothan committees. Its account will be kept daily. After quality testing of vermicompost prepared by the self-help group, its packaging and storage will be done in Gothan. Vermi compost will be marketed to farmers through cooperative institutions. The vermi compost prepared in Gothan will be purchased by the Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Forest Department and Urban Development Department as per their requirement.
