Attendees included Apple’s Tim Cook, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Bill Gates, Google’s Sundar Pichai, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Scale AI’s Alexandr Wang and Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg. The event was marked by a series of unscripted moments. One such moment involved Zuckerberg’s off-the-cuff response to a question regarding free speech in Britain. When asked, Zuckerberg responded with, “Sorry, I wasn’t ready,” which was captured live on the microphone. President Trump reacted with laughter, repeating the phrase to Melania. Trump playfully suggested this was the start of Zuckerberg’s political career, a suggestion Zuckerberg quickly dismissed. Elon Musk, owner of X, was invited but unable to attend the gathering.
