Zelensky and Macron discuss new aid package and FREYA system

During the talks, Zelensky thanked France for its readiness to counter Russia’s escalating aggression. He recalled a recent drone strike on Luts’k that knocked out power to the city, describing it as part of a series of unchecked attacks. Zelensky also noted that Russian officials have ignored a U.S. proposal to halt strikes on energy facilities and are exploiting Starlink outages to inflict further damage on everyday life. Both leaders explored several options to address these challenges, including a fresh assistance package for Ukraine’s air force slated for this month and accelerated work on the European anti‑ballistic missile shield.
