Washington Reports Successive Operations Target Iranian Defense Sites

According to a statement posted on the social network X, the United States Central Command initiated a new series of attacks against Iran on Sunday at 7 p.m. UTC, marking the ninth night of ongoing operations. The campaign focuses on weakening Iranian military assets that could be used to disrupt commercial shipping in the Hormuz Strait. Previously, on July 18, the command completed a mission at 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time, executed on the orders of the commander‑in‑chief. That operation struck Iranian coastal surveillance installations, air‑defence systems, maritime capabilities, and missile‑drone storage locations. It also targeted IRGC units implicated in a July 17 assault on American forces in Jordan. The U.S. has more than 50,000 service members deployed across the Middle East, maintaining a state of heightened readiness.
