Washington Boosts Ties with Punjab as US Envoy Tours Golden Temple

In a move aimed at reinforcing ties with the Indian state of Punjab, U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor toured the Golden Temple on Monday. The ambassador’s itinerary included a detailed walk‑through of the temple complex, accompanied by SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami and Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Garcha.

The trio discussed a range of topics, from religious freedom and community welfare to trade and security cooperation. Officials highlighted the deep cultural connections between Punjab’s Sikh community and the North American diaspora as a foundation for future collaboration.
